Welcome
Welcome to Alice Springs and an especially hearty welcome to the Alice Springs Clay Target Club and the Alice Springs Masters Games.

We hope our Sports Program provides you with a guide to the Alice Springs Masters Games 2010 Clay Target Competition and gives a brief overview of our club.  As shooter numbers and more information comes to light we will endeavour to update this page.

Your Alice Springs Masters Games 2010 registration fee includes a T-Shirt and these will be available Thursday 7th October afternoon and Friday 8th October, so they can be worn during the Opening Ceremony March.  We started the T-Shirt thing for the Alice Springs Masters Games 2008 and for the first time Clay Target was fully represented and made quite an impact at the ceremony.  (It was especially nice to see so many shooters clean at the one time).

If you require any assistance with the Games, the Clubhouse number is  08 89555277 but this number is only manned while members are present.  The 2010 program for the club shoots will be on www.ntclaytarget.org.au in the new year.

You can contact either of your coordinators at any time;

The Alice Springs Masters Games office can be contacted on Freecall 1800 658 951.

Venue and Facilities
The Alice Springs Clay Target Club grounds are situated off Ross River Highway. Travel South of Alice Springs town past Tom Brown Roundabout, through The Gap and take the first turn left over the river.  This is Palm Circuit Road.  Travel 1 km, traverse the roundabout and continue on Ross River Road for approximately 3.5 kms.  You will pass Baldissera Road on your left, Camel Farm with a large windmill on your right and then Heenan Road immediately on the left.  The turn-off to the club is approximately half a km past this Heenan Road turn-off and you will see the turn-off clearly marked with the club logo.  This is a dirt road and leads directly to the shooting grounds.

We have two parking areas, the first on the left at the bottom of the rise and the second on the rise next to the clubhouse.

Although we usually don’t have campers on the grounds, we do make an exception for the Games, so remember to keep your speed down as you drive up the hill.

Our club has full kitchen facilities and will offer a limited breakfast from 7am and snacks and light meals will also be available. We have a licensed bar and alcohol will be on hand.

Anyone who is considering camping, will need to contact Tanya, preferably by email, to organise a site.  There will be a charge per night.  With limited space and ablution facilities we may be forced to limit the number of campers, so don’t just rock up and expect a space, let us know first, so you wont end up in the back blocks with your own home-made drop dunny.

Emergency Assembly Point
In the event of an emergency, our Emergency Assembly Point will be located on the gravel area in front of the green shed.

Sports Medicine
Sports medicine personnel and facilities will be provided for all competitors and details will be printed in your souvenir programs.

Results
Results will be on display on the board at the clubhouse, as well online at www.alicespringsmasters.com.au

Practice
Club grounds and facilities will be open for practice from 12 noon on Thursday 7th October.  We will have a layout for both Skeet and DTL and practice tickets will be available in the clubhouse.

As per any shoot, jobs will be found for volunteers.   If you arrive early and are bored, let us know you are in town.

Competition Times
Competition will start at 8am on Friday 8th with the following program

Friday 8th

50 target Skeet
25 target Continental Points Score

Saturday 9th
50 target Double Barrel

Sunday 10th
25 target Single Barrel
75 target Mixed (Double, Single, Points)

Monday 11th
30 target Handicap
25 target Sporting Clays

(The Committee reserves the right to change the program if we have unforeseen circumstances)

The office will be operating the afternoon of Thursday the 7th October for registrations and, all going well, squad sheets will be printed for the early squads.

Medal Presentations
Medal presentations will be held at the clubhouse as soon as practicable at the end of the days program and shoot-offs.   We are aiming for 5.30pm but with shoot-offs being unpredictable, we will be at the mercy of gold medalists versus silver medalists.

Rules and Regulations
Shooters are reminded to wear closed in shoes and this competition will be run in accordance with ACTA Rules and Regulations.

Points to Ponder
•    This shoot will be the only shoot where Deep Heat is not only accepted, it is an aphrodisiac.
•    Grecian 2000 will not be scoffed at, indeed it will be discreetly available at a discounted price through the kitchen staff.
•    Inappropriate noises when rising from low slung chairs will be ignored (most probably because everyone else is either deaf or nearly deaf).
•    Operations and current illnesses are allowable bar conversations.
•    Political Correctness may not be so Correct and flirting with your Broad Butt Barmaids will be down-right encouraged.

and most importantly

•    Shooting to your best ability is actively supported, but for this weekend in October, everyone will be a winner!
