Welcome to Volleyball at the 2010 Alice Springs Masters Games! 
The Central Australian Volleyball Association welcomes all competitors for the Indoor Hard-court Volleyball events at the 2010 Alice Springs Masters Games.  We look forward to working together to ensure that the 2010 Games are our biggest and best games yet. Venue
Centralian College is the home of the Central Australian Volleyball Association. (CAVA). The Facility is nicely Air Conditioned for players comfort and boasts 2 playing courts as well as change room facilities.   The College which is a 20 - 25minute walk to the Town Centre.

Parking
Parking is located within the College grounds. Players should follow the parking signs.

Road Closures
Please note there will be road closures and traffic delays at various times and at various locations that may affect your journey to the venue.

Transport
A free bus service will operate for the duration of the Games for registered participants running between the various accommodation venues and return. To use the free bus service you are requested to make bookings one day prior.

Drinks
We have a license to cover the Bar for the week of the Games. Each day the Bar opens at 5.00pm and closes at midnight.
No alcohol can be brought into the College grounds and no alcohol can be taken onto the Courts.  Due to restrictions imposed by the Alice Springs Town Council, drinks cannot to served in glass containers.

Catering
The CAVA will be seeking a caterer for the period of the Games week.
More information about the meals will be available closer to the start of the Games.

Competition Dates
Play will start on Sunday 10th October and is scheduled to conclude on Friday Evening 15th October 2010.
The courts will be available for practice on Saturday 9th October from 11am. Please advise Dale or Abel if you would like a training session scheduled on the Saturday.

The Mixed Competition will now take place on Sunday 10 October. Those competitors wishing to participate in this competition should join the ‘Sunday Mixed Competition’ team when completing their registration. Scheduling
We will endeavor to accommodate any competitors playing other sports at the Games, however this will require flexibility by those competitors. Please advise Dale or Abel as soon as possible so this can be considered when the draw is scheduled.

Competition Format
The format will be Round Robin for each event, with Finals and Medal matches being played on the last 2 days of Competition.

Match Balls
The CAVA utilizes Molton Match Volleyball. New balls will be utilized for the tournament.
 
Results
Results will be on display at the venue as well as at the Games Centre and online at www.alicespringsmasters.com.au

Presentation Dinner
AS per history, we will again be hosting the end of week presentation Dinner on Friday evening following the Gold Medal matches. The dinner will be held at a local restraint and is a great way to finish what is sure to be another great week of Volleyball. Medals and other presentations will be undertaken during the evening.
