Triathlon/Duathlon
Welcome
On behalf of the Alice Springs Triathlon Club, I would like to welcome all of our competitors to Alice Springs, the sporting centre of Australia.
To all our visitors I hope that your stay in the Alice is most enjoyable and that you achieve your goals throughout the week.  The Alice Springs Triathlon Club will once again host the triathlon and duathlon at this year’s Masters Games.

Both events will be conducted on the same courses used for the 2008 games. As with last games competitors aged 60 years and over will be competing over a shorter distance in the triathlon and duathlon.

Both events have been designed to take in the wonderful landscape that Central Australia offers, with the backdrop to the Duathlon being the world class desert park and the MacDonnell ranges, and the Triathlon taking place in Heavitree Gap and the Illparpa ranges.

As a number of triathletes compete in other sports during the Games, both of our events are scheduled as early morning events to enable competitors to enter a full range of events.

Although our events are scheduled early in the morning which enables us to escape the heat of the day it is most important that all competitors do stay hydrated and drink plenty of water throughout the week of the games.  It is also wise to wear a Sun Visor and Sun Glasses where possible to avoid the Glare of the early morning sun.

Please take a minute or two to browse through this sport program which provides full details of both the Triathlon and Duathlon.  If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Sports Coordinators on one of numbers listed above or the Masters Games office on 1800 658 951 for further information.
